Essential Services for the Poor
A Sustainable Solution for the Vulnerable
Essential Services for the Poor at a Glance

At Love Howick, we believe in creating a community where everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can access the essentials they need to live with dignity. Our initiatives are designed to provide sustainable support to the most vulnerable, ensuring that no one is left behind. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

Street Store

Mobile Feeding Trucks

Food insecurity remains a critical issue for many under-resourced communities. Our mobile feeding trucks deliver nutritious meals to Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres and schools, helping to ensure that children have the energy and focus they need to learn and grow. This project is a vital step towards improving food security and supporting the next generation.

Love Feast

On the 14th of February, we host our annual Love Feast, a day dedicated to spreading love and care throughout the community. This event offers free meals, a kids’ play area, and free health checks, creating a space where everyone can feel valued and supported. It’s a celebration of compassion and community spirit.

Winter Blanket Drive

As winter sets in and temperatures drop, the need to support our less-privileged neighbours becomes increasingly urgent. Love Howick’s Winter Blanket Drive is an initiative designed to provide warmth and comfort to those who struggle through the colder months. The community can join us in making a difference by donating a blanket. The blankets are distributed to families in need, ensuring they have the essential warmth required to face the winter season.

Santa Schoolbox Project

Education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our Santa Schoolbox Project collects stationery donations to provide under-resourced schools with the supplies they need to support their students and to ensure that every child has the tools they need to succeed in their education.

Conclusion

Through initiatives like the Street Store, Mobile Feeding Trucks, Love Feast, Winter Blanket Drive, and the Santa Schoolbox Project, we strive to address the immediate needs of the most vulnerable while fostering long-term empowerment and community connection. We believe that no one should be left behind, and every act of kindness—no matter how small—contributes to a stronger, more inclusive society.
